Canadian runners... a hardy breed... in the blowing snow at -20 and in the freakin' heat at 95!

In either case - they must do it for the BEvERages...

happy hill times..

it IS a great shot!

Well we Canadians are a hardy lot to say the least. I have also started my 1/2 Marathon training this winter, man did I pick the snowiest winter in years to start training. Miss Lilly talkes about last Saturday's storm. I met my running group at 08:00 am and headed off to do 16km. The roads had been plowed but underneath all the snow there was lots of ice. Tricking getting my footing and the sidewalks were horrible. As we ran along the streets the snow drifts were higher than me standing at 5'5". I was hallucinating about running in the spring with tulips popping up everywhere and the smell of liliac bushes. The feeling I had once I completed my 16KM run was fantastic and sitting back at home drinking my glass of wine felt even better. Well, one thing is for sure Spring will get here eventually and if we can run in 55 cm of snow think of how fast we will be on clear pavement. Look out National Capital Race Weekend, Ottawa Canada.
